Communications Director
Job Summary
The Communications Director will create, implement and manage a communications strategy that keeps the church informed, updated and engaged. They will oversee all internal and external communications to consistently articulate and fulfill the mission and vision of AHCC. This individual will be an innovative, strategic thinker and a results-driven team leader and administrator.
Responsibilities
- Work towards the mission of the church, in concert with the vision of the Board and Lead Pastor and under the spiritual authority of the Elders
- Oversee all church communications, including marketing and internal communications, making sure they’re effective and in keeping with our brand.
- Develop and implement a Communications Playbook detailing a specific strategy and annual schedule
- Effectively manage and grow AHCC’s digital communication presence including:
- Social media
- Website
- Church App
- Sunday Livestream
- Manage Listen & Learn
- Oversee AHCC Stories, This Time Tomorrow and BLESS Stories
- Oversee all graphics and promotional materials related to church-wide activities with a high standard of creativity, excellence and aesthetic
- Help church leaders and teams leverage their ministry communication
- Develop and oversee volunteer teams as deemed necessary to accomplish communication goals
- Manage communications budget
- Attend required staff and leadership meetings/trainings
Skills & Qualifications
- A heart for the local church, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion to help others find and follow Jesus
- Church member
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Able to comprehend and express our church’s heart in an authentic manner
- Experience developing and implementing communications strategies
- Personal Charisma – An energetic leader who attracts and inspires others
- Relational Ability – A “people” person who works well with staff and volunteers of varying personality types
- Creativity – An ability to think “outside the box” and generate new ideas without the prompting of leadership
- Effectively following through without heavy oversight
- Ability to lead and develop teams
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop or other graphic media software
Hours
10 hrs./week
Workplace
The vast majority of this position can be done remotely and during whatever hours the staff member chooses. From time to time there are required staff meetings and leadership trainings. The staff member will be made aware of these required meetings at least a month ahead of time.
Compensation
TBD based on skills, experience, qualifications and education.
